A common love of flight and the eternal search for 'thermals' that can keep their wings airborne draw together two pilots on a cross country flying adventure.
Greg Hamerton is an author of fantasy novels and a leading paraglider pilot. His passion for flying long distances over rough terrain has drawn him to the niche of 'cross country' flying.
Johan Anderson, three-time South African champion, has been flying hang gliders for 16 years. He is an instructor and has a passion for these 'eagles of the sky'.
There are distinct differences between the crafts these two pilots fly. A hang glider is heavier and requires a longer runway and landing strip, whilst a paraglider can turn tighter and land in a more confined area. The hang glider is rigid and fast, but the paraglider is more manoeuvrable.
But Johan and Greg share the common love of flight and their eternal search for 'thermals' that can keep their wings airborne, was destined to draw them together. Greg persuaded Johan to join him on an aerial, cross-country flying adventure. Four members of Fresh Air Crew filmed their journey.
